Career Management Center

Welcome to the Career Management Center (CMC). The Naveen Jindal School of Management is the largest of UT Dallas’ seven schools with more than 6,300 students. The CMC was created to prepare all degree-seeking students in the Jindal School of Management for significant and fulfilling business careers. We have a committed and enduring relationship with the DFW business community, home to 24 Fortune 500 companies. Located just outside the east bank elevators on the second floor of the Jindal School of Management, our office offers a complete set of professional development programs and services for students and alumni.

As a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), the CMC complies with the Principles for Professional Conduct for Career Services Professionals. We ask that all students and alumni read our Code of Ethics before attending a CMC event or appointment. For more information regarding the CMC, please call (972) 883-6916 or email us.

Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. We are located at:
Naveen Jindal School of Management
The University of Texas at Dallas
JSOM 2.301
800 West Campbell Road
Richardson, TX 75080-3021

The Jindal School of Management is large enough to offer many attractive degree plans but small enough to serve each constituent with the highest level of service and satisfaction. I don’t believe there is a “one size fits all” to today’s management challenges. Therefore, the Career Management Center works hard to build professional development programs that match each individual student. Our goal is to ensure students emerge as strong candidates for JSOM corporate partners.

For our employers, we strive to provide the most efficient access to highly qualified students insuring that each employer identifies, recruits, and hires the most attractive candidates for their internships and full-time positions. Please contact me to learn more about how to support career education efforts including Mentor Programs, Workshops, and Customized Engagement Opportunities.

Please engage with us and know we are committed to providing you with the best possible service.

Amanda Brown, Talent Acquisition Specialist at Enterprise

It is great to have a local partner in UT Dallas. Enterprise employees work hard but we also pride ourselves in a fun employee culture.  We regularly attend UT Dallas career expos to recruit students with an entrepreneurial spirit.  They can come from any major on campus as long as they have a desire to be in a leadership role.  I enjoy working with students in different networking sessions and giving classroom presentations to enhance interviewing skills to prepare them for life after school.

Chris Abernathy, Senior Finance Manager at CBRE, Inc.

It was an honor to speak to the Finance Industry Forum student group.  I am impressed with both their preparedness and enthusiasm.  I look forward to continued involvement with the Jindal School of Management at UT Dallas.

Tom Montgomery, Co-Managing Partner of Montgomery Coscia Greilich LLP

Our intern program with the recruitment of UTD students proves time and time again to be a win-win for both our firm and the student. Supervised on-the-job training allows for students to get the training they want and our firm to get quality work from some of UTD’s top students. More importantly, we get to know each other and determine if it’s a mutual fit for permanent employment. We feel our intern program is a significant reason our turnover rate is less than 5 percent, one-fifth of the national average for public accounting firms.

Sam Gilliland, Chairman and CEO at Sabre Holdings

As an employer of many interns and graduates from The University of Texas at Dallas, I would highly recommend JSOM students. The staff and faculty are dedicated to providing the highest quality of professional development and academic preparation to their students.

JSOM students are knowledgeable about their fields of study and are well-prepared for industry. I am impressed by their potential and professional demeanor and I look forward to our continued partnership.

Jim Friedberg, Executive VP at NCH Corporation, International

The Career Management Center staff are sensational ambassadors for the Jindal School of Management, making perfect arrangements and providing the nicest hospitality.  I am impressed with the help and training provided to your students as well as your beautiful building and remarkable growth.

Miya Maysent, VP of People and Organizational Development at 7-Eleven, Inc.

We have experienced great success with interns and graduates of the MBA program at UT Dallas. The Career Management Center staff has worked collaboratively with our organization to ensure a successful intern program year after year, and we’ve been fortunate to convert some of our interns into fulltime hires after completion of the MBA program. The JSOM areas of focus in Operations, Supply Chain, Real Estate, and Marketing are great fit for our needs. We look forward to a continued partnership with UT Dallas and the JSOM students.

Richard Sowan, CPA, Managing Partner at BKM Sowan Horan, LLP

The success of the interns and graduates we have employed from UT Dallas have not been anything short of outstanding. The students both past and present have emerged as conscientious and well prepared for the fast paced business world. The interns have seen the inner workings and demand our clients place on us as a firm. The students seem to have a thirst for knowledge that from my role as Managing Partner will be one of the key attributes to their growth and development as professionals and contributors to the community they will serve. We look forward to partnering with UT Dallas on our continued hiring needs in the accounting and IT audit fields.

Alyssa G. Martin, Executive Partner of Advisory Services at Weaver LLP

Our intern program is a foundational element of our team development at Weaver. Interns have the opportunity to experience true life experiences in public accounting. UT Dallas students are well prepared for accounting careers. Their comprehensive coursework has developed their quantitative reasoning and problem solving skills for the workplace. Our experience with UTD interns has been excellent. Many former UTD graduates are highly successful members of our team.

Dana Ward, VP of HR-Recruiting at One Network Enterprises, Inc

I believe that the Jindal School of Management at UT Dallas has the BEST program for getting students hired out of school. The CMC is very proactive and very organized. I will be working with the mentorship program at UTD and am very excited about it.

Brian Terrell, CPA and Managing Partner at BTerrell Group, LLP

I have enjoyed working with many of the UTD student interns over the years. In fact, many have become permanent employees here at BTerrell Group. UTD does a great job of preparing students for life after school. I hope you will call on me if I can ever help you or your University in any way.
