The Comet Closet is a career clothes closet that allows students to rent professional attire such as blazers, button-down shirts, pants and skirts needed for an interview job, internship and other career-related events. Since 2015, the Comet Closet has organized and developed an inventory system and provided professional attire to students.

The Jindal School of Management is fortunate to have a very special resource for our career and internship seeking students. Our graduates are highly qualified candidates in their chosen area of business and our goal is for students to also LOOK the part as well.

How to Rent an Attire?

Appointments must be scheduled in advance. Students can check out an attire as often as they need, provided they are in good academic standing and have returned all previously borrowed items. Items can be kept for 14 days and must be professionally dry-cleaned prior to returning to Comet Closet (a dry-cleaning receipt should accompany all returned items). Items that are not returned will be charged to the student’s account.

To schedule an appointment, please complete the following rental agreement. Once this has been submitted, you will be contacted via email within 2 business days. The process for renting attire for job interview will be posted soon.

How to Donate Cash or New Attire?

Your contribution will not only provide career resource for a student in need, but also will help put our talented students into important positions around the country. The Comet Closet relies on donations from our generous donors, particularly from our wonderful alumni community in order to maintain a complete inventory of professional clothing.

Monetary donations are greatly appreciated. A donation of any size helps us ensure the Comet Closet can maintain an inventory of appropriate business attire for our students during the interview process. The process for donating cash or only new attire (i.e., slacks, skirts, blazer with price tag attached) will be posted soon.

Clothing is provided on a rental basis and each item can be kept for up to 14 days. So, you need to return them after you dry-clean them (must provide a dry-clean receipt as a proof). Non-returned items will be charged to your student account.

The Comet Closet provides business professional attire for job and internship interviews (e.g., pants, jacket, skirt).

You can utilize the Closet as often as needed provided you are in good academic standing and do not have any outstanding items.

No, the clothing appointment is a closed appointment (privacy is important).

A staff member will help you choose items in your size so you can try them on. Once you have chosen your attire, you will review the rental agreement and confirm your return date. Remember, you need to dry-clean them before your return the items.

Depending our inventory, a full attire may consists of a blazer, button-down shirt/blouse, and pants or a skirt. We do not provide shoes, ties or other accessories.

Yes, absolutely! All items must be dry-cleaned prior to being returned. A dry-cleaning receipt must accompany your items. Clothing that is returned dirty will be assessed a cleaning fee of $25.

You can keep your outfit for a maximum of 14 days from the time of your appointment. Your return date will be reviewed with you during your appointment.

Clothing along with its dry-cleaning receipt can be returned to room 11.105F (first floor, undergraduate department area) during the designated return hours.

Failure to return your clothing item will result in fine and/or academic hold added to your student account. The amount will be determined based on the value of the non-returned items.

Comet closet does not accept any clothing donations. Unless, all items are brand new and have their price tag attached to them. We accept cash donations to in order to maintain a good inventory.

Monetary donations are greatly needed and highly appreciated. We accept check and donations can be made in any amount to “UT Dallas”. We are also working on accepting cash via an automated system through our website.
