Living Learning Community

Every year faculty personally welcome new freshmen who move into rooms reserved for the Naveen Jindal School of Management (JSOM) Living Learning Community. Three Residence Halls, accommodating about 400 students each, are located in the northwestern corner of campus. Freshmen live suite-style in groups of three; each suite has three private bedrooms and a shared living area. JSOM students live together on the same floor, and are all enrolled in the same section of BA 1100, Business Basics, a required freshman course that offers guidance through the early months of college.

JSOM freshmen in the Living Learning Community participate in special events, interact closely with faculty, and take part in community service projects. In the residence hall, freshmen can seek help from their community adviser. In the academic sphere, Dr. Marilyn Kaplan, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs, serves the JSOM LLC by working on getting more recognition for JSOMs undergraduate programs through improved rankings, increased attention to freshman recruiting, and maintaining accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
