All the students pictured above are about to graduate from the Jindal School’s Professional Program in Accounting with a master’s degree, and this academic year, each was helped with a scholarship. The students each received an award from either the Dallas Certified Public Accountant Society, the Texas Society of CPAs, or both. Victoria Alperovich, Buu Nguyen and Tim Sage received scholarships from both groups. The Dallas CPA Society serves about 6,000 members in Dallas and 13 surrounding counties; the TSCPA serves 27,000 members and 20 chapters throughout Texas.
These and other students hoping to soon qualify to become certified public accountants are studying for Regulation, Part 4 of the four-part Uniform CPA Exam. The other exam sections are Auditing and Attestation, Business Environment and Concepts, and Financial Accounting and Reporting. Candidates take each section test online, and, as of April of this year, all four exam sections last four hours.
