The ITS Exploration Camp gives high school students (9th- 12th) a sneak peek into how the Jindal School of Management breaks down the complexities of IT systems into modules that make sense, come together cohesively, and introduce IT’s many career possibilities. Our experienced faculty helps students identify their niche within IT.
You will go on one corporate site visit to learn more about what companies are doing with IT. You
also will experience the traditional college life by touring the dorms, activity center and other
fun on-campus places that UT Dallas students use.

Memories
Last summer students had a great time exploring ITS related activities at our first ITS
Exploration Camp. Students learned by building computers, programming Arduino boards,
discovering cybersecurity, visualizing data, exploring UTD campus and so much more. Not sure if
ITS for you? The ITS Exploration camp was designed for students to explore the dynamic and
exciting field of IT.

The field trips and the Arduino boards were my favorite. I learned that there is a lot more
to ITS than I had thought, and that there are so many opportunities for the STEM fields.
My favorite part was learning about security systems and the different ways to encrypt
information. I learned a lot more about what people in ITS do and what it’s like to be in
ITS jobs.
My favorite part of the camp was when we learned about how hacking works!
I expected this camp to be fun and it has been more fun than I expected!
I enjoyed learning about IT opportunities and password cracking.
I liked that we learned multiple things throughout camp, instead of focusing on one aspect of
IT. I also enjoyed hanging out with the other students and our camp counselors who were IT students.
