Summer 2023 Internship with ADD/ADHD Treatment & Diagnostic Center

The ADD/ADHD Treatment & Diagnostic Center is a clinic that specializes in diagnosing and treating ADD and ADHD. Founded over a decade ago by Dr. Robert Young, the clinic has grown to serve over 20,000 patients all over Texas to improve their health and quality of life.

This past summer, I had the privilege of working in the front office at the ADD/ADHD Treatment & Diagnostic Center. I have learned many useful skills and important lessons during my time there so far and hope to continue learning more. The experience has given me great insight into the healthcare industry and how a healthcare facility is managed and run.

In my work, I was able to perform administrative tasks such as verifying and interpreting insurance, entering claims from superbills, and maintaining and updating patient records. This gave me an idea of the effort and attention to detail that goes into managing a healthcare facility. I got to interact with patients daily and assist with any questions they had, which allowed me to understand how rewarding working in healthcare can be. I also had the opportunity to network with coworkers and work in a team setting. I learned that a clinic has many parts that work together to ensure it runs smoothly and efficiently.

I am very grateful to have worked under the guidance of my manager, Amy Chuang, who always took time out of her schedule to mentor me and help me excel in my work. It has been a pleasure working with Amy and the rest of the team at the ADD/ADHD Treatment & Diagnostic Center, and I am thankful for the experience and all that I have learned.
