What is the study of MS in Finance about?

The Master of Science in Finance program teaches the principles and application of financial concepts. The program offers five different concentrations and is designed to give students a rigorous background in finance to prepare them for careers in corporate finance, investment banking, financial analysis, or finance technology. Students have a high degree of flexibility in selecting courses across programs in JSOM to meet their specific educational and career goals. Compared to the MBA degree, the MS in Finance requires fewer semester credit hours (36 vs. 53) and the degree is focused on finance-related courses rather than the broad-based MBA curriculum.
