Biography
Assistant Professor of Finance, Finance and Managerial Economics Faculty, Meier is teaching Intermediate Financial Management. He received the 2017 Klaus Liebscher Award by the Austrian Central Bank and the Josseph de la Vega Prize 2017 (Special Mention) by the Federation of European Securities Exchanges for his paper “Regulatory Integration of International Capital Markets.” With this paper, he also was a finalist for the European Central Bank’s Young Economist Award. He also has research papers on the topics of innovation and mergers and acquisitions. Meier received a Deloitte Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship research grant in 2015. Meier’s empirical research is in corporate finance. “I am interested in empirical research with micro data in financial economics that is policy relevant,” he says. Meier received his Ph.D. in Finance from the London Business School, an M.Sc. Finance from the University of Mannheim and a B.Sc. Economics from the University of Mannheim. He also was a teaching assistant at the London Business School, for corporate finance courses at the MBA, EMBA and master level. As an undergraduate and graduate student he was a scholar of the German National Academic Foundation.
