Internship at Fort Aquatics & Gymnastics – Fall 2024

Project Achievements and Insights I recently had the opportunity to do a special project at Fort Aquatics & Gymnastics, where I utilized web analytics to help improve the company’s marketing strategy. This project allowed me to apply my technical skills, leverage tools like Google Ads, Excel, Python, and Tableau, and provide actionable recommendations to help strengthen the company’s advertising performance. The focus of this project was to analyze the effectiveness of the company’s Google Ads campaigns and provide well-supported insights and actionable strategies. I organized and processed data using Excel, Python, and Tableau, which enabled me to explore key questions about ad spend, audience engagement, and competitor positioning Through this work, I identified trends in ad performance, analyzed user behavior on the company’s website, and examined patterns in how audiences interacted with the ads. By understanding when and where ads performed best and how users engaged with the website, I was able to suggest changes to ad placements and budgets that made the campaigns more effective and efficient. Lessons Learned and What Mattered Most This project enhanced my technical skills, particularly in data organization, analysis, and visualization. Using Tableau, I designed dashboards that simplified complex data into clear, accessible insights, making it easier to communicate findings to a non-technical audience. Through this process, I learned how crucial it is to adapt technical concepts into straightforward, actionable takeaways that anyone can understand, regardless of their knowledge. Explaining my recommendations not only helped me strengthen my communication skills but also taught me how to connect technical findings to real business goals, ensuring my work was both meaningful and impactful. What I found most valuable about this experience was the opportunity to bridge the gap between data and decision-making. I learned how to interpret raw data, transform it into insights, and present those insights in ways that create actionable outcomes. It also showed me how important it is to understand the ‘why’ behind the numbers—such as improving customer engagement or gaining deeper insights into audience behavior. Most importantly, this project gave me the confidence to translate technical skills into meaningful outcomes, a skill I am excited to build on. Completing this project at Fort Aquatics & Gymnastics was a valuable experience that showed me how combining analytics with creativity can effectively solve business challenges. I am proud of the contributions I made and the skills I gained, and I look forward to applying these lessons to future opportunities. #UTDBSBUAN #JSOMINTERN #JSOM
