The Healthcare Standards Institute Foundation (HSIF) has appointed Donald Taylor, program director of the Alliance for Physician Leadership at the Naveen Jindal School of Management, to its Standards Board.
According to the HSI website, “the HSI Foundation Standards Board consists of industry leaders with a proven track record of honesty, integrity and impartiality. This board guides HSI Foundation decision making and resource allocation, provides innovative thought leadership and collaborates to form a strong governance structure.”
HSI board members steward the organization’s philanthropic resources and serve as ambassadors of an organization whose members provide thought leadership in healthcare organization management. The foundation, according to its website, identifies “opportunities to create American National Standards and sourcing subject matters experts who work collaboratively to establish best in class guidelines and standards that serve and protect patients and consumers.”
“Importantly,” the website reads, its board members “encourage us to think critically and ask ourselves questions about the ethical and legal matters of our dealings.”
Taylor said that HSI’s purpose is to create standards that enhance health and well-being, while improving equity, efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare organizations across the world.
“I am excited for this opportunity to improve international standards in healthcare management,” he said. “The insight HSI provides will be of immense value to the UTD Alliance for Physician Leadership program by refining course content, expanding our brand and growing our community of support for physician leadership development.”
