Application Process for Current High School Seniors
Prospective students must submit an online application to DMHP.
Components of the application:
Students must upload a 1-2 page professional resume that highlights their achievements, extracurricular involvement, work/internship experience, etc. Example Resume
Student must submit a 1-page response to Write a letter to yourself to be opened after your college graduation. and a 1-page essay addressing one of the prompts listed on our application.
Tell us about a community or group to which you belong. How have you contributed to this group and how has it benefitted you?
If you were awarded $10,000 to spend during one semester off from college, how would you utilize your funds and your time?
Tell us your favorite song lyric or quote from a movie, tv show, or book. Why is it important to you and how has it influenced your life?
Students will provide a recommendation contact. Recommenders will receive a link to a recommendation form within 2 business days of DMHP receiving the student’s application.
Applicants are not required to submit SAT/ACT scores, class rank, or GPA, however on average, accepted DMHP students rank in the top 25% of their graduating class, and have scored between 1290-1600 on the SAT
Applications are typically reviewed within 10 business days.
Select students will be invited for a phone or video interview. Interviews will begin in December 2023 and will continue to be scheduled until the application closes in May 2024.
Decisions will be sent to students within two weeks after their interview date
Students also can apply to additional honors programs on campus if they qualify, such as Collegium V, Terry Scholars, National Merit Scholars Program and McDermott Scholars.
What does DMHP look for in an application/applicant?
Well-rounded students: students who have experience from inside and outside of the classroom
Students who are eager to learn and develop
Students who are seeking a community of like-minded students and are excited to participate in that community
Students who are willing to create positive change in the community (UT Dallas and beyond) and serve as ambassadors of UT Dallas
High School Senior Admission Deadline
The Fall 2024 incoming student application will open on September 15, 2023.
Fall 2024 Priority Deadline: January 1, 2024, 11:59 p.m. CST.
Final Application Deadline: May 1, 2024, 11:59 p.m. CST.
