This list represents some of the scholarships that may be offered through the Jindal School and its scholarship committees.

This award, for accounting majors, is funded through the generosity of Jindal School alumni and friends. Requirements include applicants must have a 3.4 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas, be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents and have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. UG, GR

Angelica Barriga

This need-based scholarship, funded by JSOM alumna Angelica Barriga BS03 MBA08, is for full-time students. Requirements include applicants must have a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas, be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents and have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. UG

This fellowship was established in memory of Anna Nicodemus, a longtime Jindal School friend and supporter of its internal audit program. Requirements include applicants must be full-time Jindal School graduate students with coursework focusing on internal audit and must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas. GR

This fellowship, provided by Ansira Engagement Marketing, was established to support students pursuing a graduate degree in marketing at JSOM. Requirements include applicants must have a 3.5 minimum GPA at UT Dallas. GR

This endowment was established by Dr. Milind Dawande, the Mike Redeker Distinguished Professor at the Jindal School. Dr. Dawande also serves as the Jindal School area coordinator for operations/supply chain programs. This fellowship is for full-time graduate students pursuing an MS/Supply Chain Management degree at the Jindal School. GR

AT&T established this fellowship to support students pursuing an MS Supply Chain Management degree. Requirements include applicants must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas and must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents. GR

This endowment was established by Dr. BPS Murthi, the director of the Jindal School Morris Hite Center and a longtime professor. Requirements include applicants must have a 3.3 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas, be pursuing a master’s degree focused on marketing with an analytics or customer insights focus.

Fast-track Jindal School students in the marketing program with an analytics or customer insights focus are eligible for semesters during which they are enrolled in graduate level courses.GR

The Bate Family Scholarship was established in support of undergraduate students at UT Dallas. Requirements include applicants must be full-time JSOM students, have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents must have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. UG, GR

The Dallas-based Beck Group, which established this scholarship, provides architecture, construction, real estate development and sustainable design and consulting, as well as finance and technology services. Requirements include applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be pursuing a concentration in real estate as demonstrated either by real estate classes already completed or by enrollment in real estate classes. This scholarship provides support for Jindal School students engaged in the campus community. Applicants must be full-time Jindal School students, have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA and be engaged with the UT Dallas campus community such as with UT Dallas student organizations, student government, campus volunteerism and/or campus employment.

Preference may be given to students who are active in the Financial Leadership Association and/or have contributed to the success of the UTD SOM Investment Corporation. UG, GR

This scholarship was established by the Chalak Mitra Group, founded by alumnus Ron Parikh BS01, in support of the Naveen Jindal School of Management undergraduate students. Applicants must be full-time Jindal School students, have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas. Preference may be given to applicants who have a connection to or interest in India.UG

Charles and Christina Quinn

Charles Quinn EMBA08 and his wife, Christina BS12, established this award to honor those who have served in the U.S. military. Quinn is a member of the Jindal School Advisory Council. Requirements include applicants must be full-time undergraduate students, have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas and be either U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents.

Preference will be given to U.S. veterans who earned a campaign medal for overseas service or served in one of the following: USA Special Forces or Rangers, USAF Special Operations, USMC Force Reconnaissance, USN Special Warfare or Combatant. UG

This scholarship was established by alumnus Sunny Sun MS10, a professor in entrepreneurship and innovation, in support of Jindal School students. Applicants must be full-time Jindal School students and preference may be given to applicants who have completed all or part of their preparatory education in China, Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan; or are active in UT Dallas programs or clubs that promote entrepreneurial activities. This scholarship was established by Chinese students and alumni of the Jindal School in support of students pursuing a Jindal School degree. Applicants must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas and among equally qualified students, have completed all or part of their secondary education in China.UG, GR

This award is for full-time students who are pursuing retail management coursework or have completed such classes. The endowment was established by Chalak Mitra Capital Partners. Its principal is Ron Parikh BS’01. The CMG Companies is a business group whose entrepreneurs make capital investments with a focus on multi-unit and franchising. UG, GR

CoreNet, an association for corporate real estate and workplace professionals, service providers and economic developers, established this scholarship to provided support for students studying commercial real estate. Applicants must be full-time Jindal School students, have completed or are enrolled in at least one real estate course and have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas.UG, GR

The CVS Health Foundation provides scholarships to those interested in the intersection of healthcare and retail management. Requirements include applicants must be Jindal School undergraduate students, have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas, and preference may be for those pursuing a BS Healthcare Management degree and/or have retail experience and/or express an interest in pursuing a career in retail.UG

This scholarship was provided through the generosity of the Dallas Lions Club and its members. Requirements include applicants must be full-time graduate students who have completed at least 9 hours in the Jindal School and have a 3.25 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas. Applicants must be engaged on campus through a student organization, student government, campus volunteerism and/or campus employment. Preference may be for students who have had preparatory education in India.GR

This scholarship recognizes undergraduate students who demonstrate leadership, are committed to the principles of servant leadership, have financial need and are first-generation college students. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents who graduated from a Texas high school and have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas.

Applicants must have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. This scholarship is renewable if the recipient continues to demonstrate leadership and remains academically eligible. (Recipient must re-apply each year.)UG

David Holmberg

This scholarship was established by Distinguished Alumnus David L. Holmberg EMBA’00 to support Jindal School students. Applicants must be full-time Jindal School students, have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA, and for U.S. citizen and U.S. permanent resident applicants, must have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. UG, GR

This fellowship was established by friends and family of David Patterson Kieschnick. Requirements include applicants must be pursuing an MS Finance degree and have a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas.

Preference may be for students who have volunteered or made a positive impact on underserved populations or excelled in economics in their undergraduate studies.GR

Named in honor of Dr. David Springate, the founder of the Executive MBA program, this scholarship supports Jindal School students. Requirements include applicants must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas. UG, GR

This scholarship was established to support Jindal School students who are not receiving substantial amounts of financial support. Applicants must be enrolled full time, have a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA and be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents. UG, GR

This scholarship was established by Jindal School Senior Lecturer Eugene Deluke, who was recipient of the outstanding online teaching award in 2023. Applicants must be full-time Jindal School students who have a 3.25 minimum cumulative GPA.

Applicants who are U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents must have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. Preference will be given to those pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management and demonstrate financial need. UG, GR

This scholarship is provided by alumna Sejal Desai MBA99 and her family, in support of full-time graduate students. Requirements include applicants must have a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas and U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents must have FAFSA on file at UT Dallas.

Among equally qualified applicants, preference may be given to applicants who have completed all or part of their preparatory education in India. GR

This fellowship was established by Diane and Hal Brierley in support of full-time students pursuing an MS in Marketing degree. Requirements include applicants must be pursuing an analytics or customer insights focus, have a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas, be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident and a resident of Texas.

Preference will be given to applicants who have completed an undergraduate degree in the field of engineering. GR

This award was established by JSOM alumnus Ankit Rao Takallapaly MS’15 in support of MS Information Technology and Management students. Requirements include applicants must be full-time graduate students with a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas and U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents must have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas.

Preference may be given to applicants who have received all or part of their preparatory education in India; secondary preference will be given to applicants pursuing an MS BUAN degree who received all or part of their preparatory education in India.

This scholarship was established to provide support for full-time students focusing on healthcare. Applicants must be pursuing a BS or MS in Healthcare Management, have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA, and, for U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents, have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas.

Preference may be given to applicants who

  1. Have completed all or part of their preparatory education outside of the United States;
  2. Have made a positive impact on healthcare;
  3. Are enrolled in or plan to enroll in UT Dallas courses that focus on improving world healthcare; or
  4. . Have overcome significant financial barriers in pursuit of his/her education.

This fellowship was established in honor of Venkateswara Duggirala, a GLEMBA graduate. “DV” grew up in a lower middle class where it was next to impossible to think of continuous and experiential education. He worked in India, transitioning early to enterprise resource planning. After coming to the U.S., he pursued in MBA at the Jindal School.

Requirements include applicants must be enrolled in the Executive MBA program and have a 3.0 curriculum GPA at UT Dallas.EE

Ebby Halliday was a Dallas real estate agent who founded Ebby Halliday Realtors. She was a major female entrepreneur in Dallas and is recognized as the “First Lady of Real Estate” in North Texas.

Applicants must be full-time Jindal School undergraduate students who have completed or are enrolled in at least one Jindal School real estate course. UG

This need-based award was established in memory of Elsie B. Curtin, a lifelong teacher and education advocate. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students in the Jindal School with at least 12 credit hours completed at UT Dallas.

They must have a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA, be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents and have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. UG

This scholarship, funded by the Jindal School EMBA Class of 2011, provides support for veterans or dedicated community volunteers who are enrolled full time in the Jindal School. Applicants must have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA, be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents and have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas.

Applicants who are veterans must be able to present verifiable credentials of having served honorably in the U.S. military. Applicants active as community volunteers must describe their volunteer service. UG

The Executive MBA Class of 2018 created an endowed scholarship with the support of the Global Leadership Executive MBA program. The scholarship is for veterans enrolled in the Executive MBA program.

Requirements include applicants must be in the UT Dallas Executive MBA or Global Leadership MBA program, have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas and have served or are serving in the U.S. military. EE

Connie Konstans

The FEI Connie Konstans Scholarship was established to support students pursuing a degree in accounting or finance or who have a focus on corporate governance. Connie Konstans was a longtime Jindal School professor who was active in FEI.

Applicants must have a 3.25 minimum cumulative GPA and U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents must have FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. This scholarship is renewable if the recipient remains eligible. (Recipient must re-apply each year.) UG, GR

This scholarship for full-time undergraduate accounting students is funded through the generosity of FORVIS, a Jindal School supporter. (This was previously the BKD Accounting Scholarship.)

Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students pursuing an accounting degree, have a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas and are U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents. Applicants must have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. UG

Frank Bass

This scholarship was established by donors in memory of Professor Frank Bass, a longtime marketing professor at the Naveen Jindal School of Management.

Applicants must be full-time Jindal School students pursuing a marketing degree. UG, GR

This support is provided by freshbenies, a company founded by Jindal School alumna Heidi Rasmussen BA91 and her husband, Reid, to support Jindal School undergraduate students studying entrepreneurship.

Applicants must have a focus on entrepreneurship and a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas. U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents must have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. UG

This support, provided by Jindal School alumnus Gary Tillett BS’82, is for full-time undergraduate students with financial need.

Applicants must have a 3.3 minimum cumulative GPA and are U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents. Applicants must have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. UG

This scholarship, funded by the insurance company GEICO, provides support for undergraduate Jindal School students. Applicants must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA, be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents and have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas.

Preference may be given to applicants with demonstrated leadership experience and/or demonstrated financial need. UG

This endowment was established by Kristin Derington BS’01 MBA’02, whose own college education was funded by her grandparents, the Hoovers. This award is for undergraduate accounting students with financial need. UG

Gigi Edwards Bryant Champions Scholarship

KThis scholarship was established by Gigi Edwards Bryant GLEMBA02 in support of Jindal School students. Applicants must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas and U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents must have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas.

Preference may be given to applicants who have previously been in foster care and/or have made a positive impact in the lives of children in the foster care system through volunteerism, advocacy or similar activities. UG, GR

This scholarship is funded by Jindal School Associate Professor Yexiao Xu and Lan Li MS’98 for full-time undergraduate Jindal School students of high academic achievement. Dr. Xu’s research has been cited in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Financial Times, Money, Fortune and other financial media. UG

This fellowship, provided by JSOM alumnus Hasnain Saboowala MS11, is for high achieving graduate students.

Requirements include applicants must have a 3.75 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas with preference given to students who completed their primary education in India. GR

This scholarship was established by Jindal School marketing professor and program director Julie Haworth PhD’05 and her family.

Applicants must be pursuing a BS Marketing degree and have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas. Applicants must have completed a community service project. UG

Judy Hendrick

This endowment was established by Judy G. Hendrick MS’86 to provide awards to undergraduate or graduate students who are pursuing a finance degree at the Jindal School. Recipients of this award may be full-time or part-time students and must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA. Hendrick is chief financial officer at Aimbridge Hospitality and received a 2019 Women in Business Award from the Dallas Business Journal. UG, GR

Herb and Donna Weitzman

This award was established by Herb and Donna Weitzman as part of the gift establishing the Herbert D. Weitzman Institute for Real Estate at The University of Texas at Dallas Naveen Jindal School of Management. The award recognizes high academic achievement among students pursuing careers in real estate.

Applicants must be full-time Jindal School students who have completed or are currently be enrolled in at least one real estate course. Applicants who are U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents must have a FAFSA on file. UG, GR

HilltopSecurities was created when First Southwest Company, a broker-dealer founded in 1946 and known for its municipal advisory practice, joined forces with Southwest Securities Inc., a full-service broker-dealer since 1972.

. Applicants must be a junior or senior upon scholarship receipt and have a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas. Applicants who are U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents must have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. UG, GR

This scholarship is for undergraduate students interested in or pursuing a career with an innovation/entrepreneurship focus. It is funded through the generosity of Jindal School alumni and friends.

Requirements include applicants must have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas and preference may be for those who have taken innovation and entrepreneurship coursework, have participated in business start-up competitions or workshops or have started their own business. UG

Independent Insurance Agents of Dallas, Inc., (IIAD) established this scholarship to assist outstanding risk management and insurance (RMI) undergraduate students at Jindal School. Requirements include the recipient must be a full-time student, a junior or senior during the award period, have a 3.3 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas and be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents. /p>

Applicants must have completed or be enrolled in at least one RMI class at UT Dallas. Among equally qualified applicants, preference will be given to students who are active in Gamma Iota Sigma, a registered student organization at UT Dallas. UG

This scholarship was established by donors to support students making an impact in the community through volunteer service. Applicants must be full-time undergraduate Jindal School students with a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas.

Applicants who are U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents must have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. Applicants must demonstrate leadership and past involvement in activities that have positively impacted their community. UG

This award, established by friends and alumni of Jindal School who are passionate about innovation and entrepreneurship, supports graduate students enrolled IE programs at the Jindal School.

Requirements include applicants have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas and be pursuing an MS IE degree, or a dual degree MS IE/MBA, or a concentration in IE within another JSOM graduate degree program. Students must demonstrate academic merit and entrepreneurial passion and experience. GR

This fellowship, established by friends and supporters of the Jindal School, is for graduate students pursuing an MS International Management Studies degree. Requirements include applicants must be in one of these programs: MS IMS, MS IMS/MBA or MBA with international management concentration.

. Applicants must have completed at least two MS IMS core courses prior to applying and have a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas. Preference may be given to students who have gone on foreign study trips, been involved in language enhancement programs, active in the leadership of Global Business Organization (GBO), or serve as mentors to incoming IMS students. This fellowship was established in 2009 in memory of Dr. Jasper Arnold III, one-time director of the Executive MBA program.

Requirements include applicants must be enrolled in the UT Dallas Executive MBA program and have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas. EE

This scholarship, established by JSOM Distinguished Alumna Jefflyn Williamson BS84, provides need-based support for full-time undergraduate students.

. Requirements include applicants must be full-time undergraduate Jindal School students with a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas and have competed at least 30 semester credit hours at UT Dallas at the time of application. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident and have a FAFSA on file. UG

This scholarship was established by Jindal School alumna Jennie R. LeClaire MS02. Requirements include applicants must be pursuing a marketing degree, must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents and have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas.

Preference may be given to applicants who are single parents. UG, GR

This fellowship, provided by an MBA alumnus, is in memory of the late Joseph (Joe) Owens, a veteran who worked diligently for Pacific Telephone and Telegraph (now AT&T) for 42 years.

Requirements include applicants must be full-time MBA students, have a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas, and have an undergraduate degree in a STEM field. Preference may be given to applicants who are employed full time while pursuing his/her degree and/or is an honorably discharged U.S. Armed Forces veteran. GR

This need-based scholarship, funded by an anonymous donor, is for full-time or part-time undergraduate students who are also parents/guardians of a dependent minor. Requirements for applicants include student must have a 3.2 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas, be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents and have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas.

Applicants must be a parent/guardian of a dependent minor. Among equally qualified applicants, preference may be given to a single parent/guardian of a dependent minor. UG, GR

This fellowship was established to provide support to students pursuing an MS in Healthcare Leadership and Management degree or an MS in Information Technology and Management degree.

Requirements include applicants must be full-time students with a 3.25 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas and U.S. citizens and permanent residents must have FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. GR

This fellowship, for full-time graduate students with a cumulative 3.5 GPA, was established by Aanchal Aggarwal MS’14, who received an MS/Information Technology and Management degree at the Jindal School. She was senior program manager with APAC Trustworthy Shopping Experience PMO, an Amazon organization. GR

This fellowship was established to support MS Healthcare Leadership and Management graduate students who plan to work in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area after graduation. It was named in memory of Van Wagner, who was active in the healthcare field in the Fort Worth area prior to her death.

Requirements include applicants have completed at least 15 graduate credit hours in Jindal School, be full-time students pursuing an MS Healthcare Leadership and Management degree or an MBA with a healthcare management concentration and have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents and have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas.

Applicants must reside in one of these North Texas counties: Tarrant, Dallas, Denton, Johnson, Palo Pinto, Wise, Parker, Collin, Erath, Hood, Somervell, Ellis, Kaufman, Hunt, Navarro or Rockwall. Recipients may be asked to provide a resume and essay of leadership experiences. GR

This award, established by Jindal School alumnus Hassan Al-Tabatabaie BS89 MS95, is for undergraduate students.

Applicants who are U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents must have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. UG

 Kathryn Stecke

This fellowship was established by Jindal School faculty member Dr. Kathryn Stecke, the Naveen Jindal School Advisory Council Chair in Operations Management. This endowment is in support of MS Supply Chain Management students.

Requirements include applicants must be full-time graduate students with a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas. Primary preference may be given to applicants who are active in INFORMS, a registered UT Dallas student organization. UG

Kathy D. Sessa and Daniel M. Sessa endowed this scholarship to benefit undergraduate students. Dan Sessa, executive vice president and chief human resources officer at Lennox International, is chairman of the Jindal School 2023-2024 Advisory Council. Among requirements, applicants must have a FAFSA or TASFA on file and preference is for applicants who are single parents/guardians of a minor and can show they have made a positive impact on advancing women in business through UT Dallas student organizations, employment, volunteerism, advocacy or similar activities. UG

This scholarship was established by Jindal School alumnus Kevin Ryan MBA95 and his wife, Cristi, to support the school’s students. Ryan is the co-chair of the Jindal School Energy Management Industry Advisory Board and serves on the Jindal School Advisory Council.

Scholarship requirements include applicants who are U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents have a FAFSA on file at UT Dallas. , GR

Established by Ericsson, Inc., in honor of its founder Lars Magnus Ericsson, this award is for students pursuing an MS Information Technology and Management degree. Requirements include applicant must be full-time graduate Jindal School students with a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas.

Applicant must have an undergraduate degree in a technical field and provide an essay that references their technical undergraduate degree. GR

Established by Ericsson, Inc., in honor of its founder, Lars Magnus Ericsson, this award is for Jindal School students.

Requirements include applicants must be full-time Jindal School undergraduates with a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas, have completed at least 30 credit hours at time of award and be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents. Community service and/or work experience and/or leadership roles may be considered. UG

This fellowship is provided in memory of Lin Wang MS’18, an accounting student who died tragically in Dallas shortly after graduating from the Jindal School.

Requirements include applicants must have a 3.5 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas. Preference may be given to students who have had prior education in China and/or students who are pursuing an MS in Accounting degree. GR

This fellowship is awarded to full-time students pursuing an MS/Supply Chain Management degree. Jindal School Associate Professor Shouqiang Wang and his spouse, Dr. Yingbo Li, established this endowment. Dr. Wang teaches statistics, business analytics, spreadsheet modeling, operations management, logistics and procurement. GR

This award, established by the Kumars, who are friends of the Jindal School, is to support graduate students pursuing an MS Business Analytics degree.

Requirements include applicants must demonstrate high academic achievement preference will be given to students who have completed all or part of their preparatory education in India. GR

Markel Insurance has more than 70 years of experience helping customers find solutions for unique, unusual and hard-to-place risks. It is offering this scholarship to support RMI students at the Jindal School.

Applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate degree at the Jindal School, be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents and have a 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA at UT Dallas. Applicants must have either completed or are currently enrolled in an RMI course at Jindal School. The Executive MBA Class of 2015 established a scholarship in memory of classmate Ben Mesa. Mesa passed away in a tragic accident in June 2015, two weeks after graduation. Requirements include applicants have a cumulative GPA between 3.0 and 3.5. (If you GPA is above 3.5 or below 3.0, you will not be eligible.)

Bonnie Shea

This award is for full-time students pursuing an MS/Energy Management degree at the Jindal School. It was established by Bonnie Shea BS’84, the CEO of Urban Oil and Gas. She was one of eight recipients of a UTD Distinguished Alumni Award in 2022. In 1989, Shea started as CFO at Merit Energy, when the company opened and later became president. At Merit, she rounded out her accounting background with entrepreneurial skills. In 2009, she and her husband founded Urban Crust in Plano and followed up that success with Urban Rio Cantina & Grill, Urban Seafood Company and Rooftop Event Spot. Also in 2009, Shea founded Urban Oil and Gas Group, an investment management firm, where she remains CEO. GR
