Fostering Lasting Connections

Like all programs within the Jindal School, the Meteor Mentoring opportunity is designed with our students’ success as the ultimate goal. This program provides students with necessary resources at critical points in their educational journey.

Other benefits of being a mentee:

  • Learn to navigate resources across campus
  • Build confidence and increase self-awareness
  • Develop time-management and organizational skills
  • Learn how to become a future mentor

What to expect when you get involved:

Mentees should expect to go through a one-hour orientation session designed to give necessary tools, resources and skills to become an effective mentee. You also will receive a Mentee Handbook (TODO insert actual link) for reference, tips and general expectations.

Once you complete your orientation session and before the beginning of the new semester, our system will pair you with a mentee.

Each Meteor Mentoring session is based on a 12-week timeframe in both fall and spring semester. However, mentors and mentees are encouraged to continue their relationship after the formal session has ended.

Meteor Mentoring Timeframe
Fall Spring
September – December February – May

The amount of time given to the Meteor Mentoring program can depend on the mentorship. The general expectation is that students and mentors will be in touch at least once a month throughout the semester via email, phone, video chat or in-person meetings.

Incoming students and seniors, sign up to become a mentee today!
