Dates:

  • Abstracts due now through January 20, 2020
  • Selections announced by February 21, 2020
  • Finished papers due April 15, 2020
  • PowerPoint presentations due April 30, 2020

Requirements:

  • 250-word abstract
  • Learning objectives
  • PMI Knowledge Triangle classification
  • Speaker’s bio + photo

If your abstract is selected for presentation at the event, you will be notified by February 21, 2020. Presenters will be expected to develop an original paper in a standard format, prepare a PowerPoint presentation and deliver a 45-minute presentation.

How to Create an Awesome Abstract provides guidance on how to submit a topic for consideration at the UT Dallas PM Symposium. Tips on what to write or not write start at 12 minutes on slide 15. Actual reviewers discuss what they like and don’t like when selecting papers, at 18 minutes, slide 27.

Listening to this entire free video qualifies for .5 PDUs under the Leadership topic, which you can self-report on www.PMI.org.

Abstracts will be selected through a blind review process for relevance, interest and relationship to the symposium theme.

This two-day symposium is sponsored by the Graduate Program in Project Management at UT Dallas, in cooperation with the PMI Dallas Chapter and the PM World Journal.
