My degrees provided a strong foundation for healthcare management. I started with a fundamental knowledge of the healthcare industry and consistently built upon that knowledge with courses such as Healthcare Law, Analytics and Strategic Leadership to prepare me for my career. Having a degree from UT Dallas is a conversation starter for networking or interviewing, especially since UT Dallas students have won the ACHE (American College of Healthcare Executives) Case Study Competition multiple times, increasing the credibility of the MS in Healthcare Leadership and Management degree.

After being in the UT Dallas MBA program and talking about different careers, I learned that internal auditors are problem solvers. There’sa balance in auditing – seeing the problem using data coupled with the creativity to figure out the best solution. My understanding that there’s a balance between analysis and creativity when using data to solve problems prepared me for my role as Data Analytics Director at McKesson.
