JindalConnect Gives Students, Alums, Faculty and Friends a Way to Help Each Other

by - September 27th, 2017 - Career Management Center, College Knowledge

JindalConnect is a private networking platform for Naveen Jindal School of Management alumni, students, faculty and friends. This website, a bit like LinkedIn but more personal, gives members a way to build their careers, seek help from others who have indicated a willingness to be a mentor or share wisdom about their company, career or classes they took as a student.

While the platform could serve as a social networking site, its professional component is what most students and alumni are eager to access. When joining the platform, users indicate their willingness to serve as a mentor. Right now, almost 2,000 members of the more than 5,000 who are on JindalConnect have indicated a willingness to serve as a mentor in some fashion.

Other JindalConnect features include:

  • Search function for alumni by class year, degree, current location or industry — or all of these attributes at once.
  • Ways to connect with those offering to serve as a long-term mentor, give one-time career advice or open doors at their company.
  • Groups that include students and alumni sorted by industry or class year, rather than by major. For instance, while the Jindal School did not have an energy-related degree until recently, more than 100 members have joined the Energy Alumni Affinity Group.
