Exchange Study Programs

student Kim Killen in Japan

Spending an entire semester in another country is one of the best ways to achieve an immersive international experience. You can learn about that country’s culture, build relationships with its people and develop language skills by living in that area for an extended period of time.

We often describe a semester-long experience as the biggest bang for your buck. You maximize your time abroad while only buying one international plane ticket (often the single-largest expense of studying abroad).

When students participate in an exchange program, they spend a semester enrolled full-time at one of our university partner institutions around the world. Students take business classes taught in English and transfer the credit back to UT Dallas. They continue to pay full-time tuition to UT Dallas and are responsible for paying for fees, books, and room and board (if living on campus) to the host institution. In the past, students have studied at exchange programs in China, France, Germany, Japan, Peru, South Korea, Spain, Turkey and more.

Eligibility

The selection process for an exchange program is competitive. Students should apply at least six months in advance. Students are not permitted to participate in an exchange program during their last two semesters prior to graduation and must have completed Math 1325.

  • 3.0 grade-point average (GPA)
