Executive MBA Newsletter - September 2016

Greetings, Alumni!

Our incoming classes are well under way. We welcomed the EMBA Class of 2018 at orientation on August 18, and the GLEMBA Class of 2018 began its retreat on August 22. Please keep reading to see what courses they have begun and what courses are scheduled in spring 2017 — as alumni you are welcome to audit any EMBA course. We also announced that our EMBA and GLEMBA cohorts will be joining forces for the International Study Tour to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and Seoul, South Korea. If you are interested in joining us in early April 2017, please let me know.

I want to acknowledge Dr. David Springate’s 27 years at UT Dallas – the incoming EMBA cohort will be the 25th to graduate from the EMBA program. Dr. Springate was hired by the late Dr. Stephen Guisinger and a year later was tapped to start and lead the UT Dallas Executive MBA program. At the same time, he served as the associate dean for executive education. He has taught all 25 cohorts. In 2007, he co-founded the Center for Finance Strategy Innovation and became its director. Dr. Springate is now once again focusing his attention on the finance center. He will continue to serve as our academic director for both EMBA and GLEMBA in an advisory capacity. He will always be part of the programs, and you can expect to see him at all alumni events.

Happy Fall!

Pamela Foster Brady
