The University of Texas at Dallas is very excited to present the 2024 Top Trader Competition. Throughout the summer program, high school students will be exposed to the world of investment management. The goal is simple: who can take the skills learned throughout the program and apply them to make the most money in our virtual simulator? Do you have what it takes to be the TOP TRADER?

Top Trader Overview
With an initial balance of $1 million dollars of virtual currency, participants can invest in stocks, and ETFs. If that still doesn’t excite you, we are offering cash prizes to the best of the best. In addition, take advantage of earning Investment and Personal Finance Knowledge certificates along the way.
Program Details
- Competition prizes:
- 1st Prize: $600 cash
- 2nd prize: $500 cash
- 3rd prize: $400 cash
- 4th prize: $300 cash
- 5th prize: $200 cash
- Registration dates: March 5, 2024 to May 24, 2024
- Contest runs from June 4, 2024 to July 26, 2024
- Registration fee: $50 per registration (Non-refundable)
- Early bird discount(25%) registration closes on April 30
- Contest is conducted 100% online and campus attendance is not required to participate.
- Note: A computer with a high-speed internet connection is required to access the web-based trading program.
- To participate one must be a legal resident or citizen and have a valid social security number

Monica Powell, PhD.
Associate Dean of Graduate Education
Dr. Powell serves as the Associate Dean of Graduate Education at the Jindal School of Management. She helps oversee the school’s nationally recognized graduate and MBA programs. Dr. Powell discusses some money lessons she learned early in life that she still uses today.
