I have a double degree in Engineering (Electrical/Process disciplines) but started my career as an associate in a capacity development firm, doing competence consulting. I made some progress and eventually became a business manager at two different firms, overseeing training, consulting, sales and marketing efforts. These experiences gave me a lot of access to data but without the requisite knowledge and skills to mine and get insights from data, I was limited in the quality and value I could add to clients through these projects. This informed my decision to pursue a graduate degree in business analytics. The business analytics program at the University of Texas, Dallas is quite broad and integrated to enable graduates to apply analytic capabilities to a wide range of career paths. I am keen to ensure that it becomes the Number 1 business analytics program in the country. I look forward to sharing and implementing ideas that will improve the program, students and the faculty.
