Whoosh!! Hey! So here’s something about myself. I’m from the most happening city in India – Bengaluru. I completed a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and COmmunication Engineering post which I was a founding memeber of two small startups that don’t really do well anymore. Being part of the corporate culture that implemented the best of technologies, I was drawn towards numbers and how playing around with them couldmake or break worlds. Thus, I applied to The University of Texas at Dallas for their MS program in Business Analytics and now cherish every day that I’m here. The things to learn and the places to implement are what makes this place the master ingredient for your overall growth. I am currently focused onto the Marketing Analytics track with a mixture of Data Science and Operations Analytics. Feel free to reach out to me if you ever feel doubtful about anything . I have been a techie throughout my life! Since an early age I had been enamoured by the capacity and capabilities of simple machine, the computer, possessed and I could only dream about the potential this little box had, to can change our lives. I grew up to the many advances in the field of computing from a time when my big clumsy computer which only had a 512 MegaBytes ram was replaced by a slick notebook with have 16 GigaBytes of the same! So when it came to doing my Bachelor’s, it was only obvious that I would pursue it in Computer Engineering. It’s here where my love story with Data Science began! I joined Tata Consultancy Services’s Digital Enterprises Service Solutions (DESS) vertical  soon after completing my bachelors. There I worked on different Big Data Integration projects and over the years my passion for Big Data pushed me to learn more and more. This took a new high when I worked on certain projects under the Analytics and Insights department of TCS where I could see tangible benefits and the impact my work had on multiple industries. My thirst for more knowledge began to grow. I reached a stage where I my curiosity could not be quenched by learning from my Job. I then decided that I need to pursue a more formal education in these lines. I did a lot research and finally set my focus on the Business Analytics program at the University of Texas at Dallas. I did all that I had to and ensured I landed up here. I have been studying here since Fall-18 and I am happy to say my research paid off. Today I can say from a first-hand experience that this program is truly diversified and provides me with multiple options to pursue, which will equip me for greater challenges tomorrow can bring. I have a double degree in Engineering (Electrical/Process disciplines) but started my career as an associate in a capacity development firm, doing competence consulting. I made some progress and eventually became a business manager at two different firms, overseeing training, consulting, sales and marketing efforts. These experiences gave me a lot of access to data but without the requisite knowledge and skills to mine and get insights from data, I was limited in the quality and value I could add to clients through these projects. This informed my decision to pursue a graduate degree in business analytics. The business analytics program at the University of Texas, Dallas is quite broad and integrated to enable graduates to apply analytic capabilities to a wide range of career paths. I am keen to ensure that it becomes the Number 1 business analytics program in the country. I look forward to sharing and implementing ideas that will improve the program, students and the faculty.
