What is marketing?

Marketing is the process of communicating the value of a product or service to potential customers, to sell that product or service. It involves anticipating, managing and satisfying demand for products and services, and promoting an organization’s ability to do so to their target market.

According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS), effective marketing involves examining every aspect of the business, and analyzing the customer’s experience at each stage of the sale. As a marketer, you’ll help organizations to identify and understand their customers, and come up with ideas to communicate the benefits and unique selling points of the organization’s product or service.
