UTD Coaching News

From the Director of Executive Coaching

As we welcome Spring on the UT Dallas campus, we also welcome our newest cohort of executive coaching students.  We are always pleased that the Program attracts top notch applicants who, once they graduate, continue to increase the awareness of the academic quality and rich coaching skills focus of our Program.  Also extending our presence in the academic community is the Master’s program in partnership with UT Southwestern Medical Center.  Beginning in January, the program is receiving rave reviews from the 27 high potential leaders who are enrolled as they were introduced to motivational leadership and coaching as a leadership style.

We are very excited to announce a new partnership with Western Governors University (WGU), a nonprofit, accredited virtual university established 11 years ago by the governors of 19 states.  Unlike any other online program, WGU has about 500 full-time mentor-coaches who work with students from the day they are accepted into the University to maximize their success.  Beginning in May, UT Dallas’ Organizational Behavior and Executive Coaching Program will begin a cohort program that qualifies 100 of WGU’s mentors for the ACC level of ICF certification.  We are excited about the confidence that WGU has shown in our Program and look forward to supporting this innovative and fast growing national online university.

Keep an eye out for the new and improved website for the UT Dallas Organizational Behavior and Executive Coaching Program.  The launch of the website should be within the next three weeks and, if all goes according to plan, we show it at our next UT Dallas Organizational Behavior and Executive Coaching Open House and Happy Hour.  This event is scheduled for April 14th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00pm (see News and Notes below).  We invite local coaches to join us and bring a guest as we continue to create a larger and better connected community of coaches in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

As you can see, we are staying true to our dedication to excellence in coaching education, to supporting our students, alumni and faculty, and to increasing the presence of coaching in the business arena. We invite each of you to keep in touch and wish you continued success in 2011.

Best regards,
