Work With JSOM Faculty

The Career Management Center wants to see students succeed. By working with the faculty, we can help students find fulfilling careers. We encourage faculty members to review our website and share pertinent information with students. Refer them to the Career Management Center and promote our Upcoming Events.

Class Presentations

We are available to speak in your class, workshop, meeting, etc. We can speak on specific career-related topics or present an overview of our services. To schedule a special career presentation for your students, please contact the Career Management Center at extension 6916 or stop by our office.

Employer Guest Speakers

We can assist you in finding and scheduling employers to speak in your class. Our Employer Relations Team has contacts from all around the DFW metroplex. Please reach out to jindal.career@utdallas.edu if you would like to have an employer as a guest lecturer.

NACE Guidelines for Faculty

NACE, the National Association of Colleges and Employers, provides a faculty guide to ethical and legal standards in student hiring. Please review NACE’s website to learn more about providing references and student referrals.

The Career Management Center does not endorse, partner with, or support employment vendors not affiliated with UTD.  Students should not pay for any recruiting services, and if they are asked to pay for services, students should immediately contact the Career Management Center at 972-883-6916 or Email Us.

Students are encouraged to independently research vendors and their affiliates before accessing any non-UTD services.  It is strongly recommended to Google the vendor name with scam as the search criteria and research organizations and potential scams through the Glassdoor, Better Business Bureau, and/or Vault (CMC subscription resource available with NetID at CMC Student Resources ).

Protect Yourself Online

The JSOM Career Management Center and University Police have experienced an increase in JSOM students reporting predator and scam organizations. It is important to Protect Yourself Online. The scam artists may utilize images, text and/or letterhead from the real organization. Review the Protect Yourself Online PDF to learn more about the red flags to watch for and report suspicious activity to the JSOM Career Management Center and the UT Dallas Police Department. Remember to trust your instincts and if an opportunity is too good to be true, it probably is.
