Tell us the highlights of your professional career. What are your proudest achievements?
I have been fortunate to spend most of my 28-year-long career working for two excellent companies, JC Penney and PNC Bank. Both organizations have allowed me to maintain a work-life balance, which I believe is very important. I have maintained an active role in my children’s lives while continuing to excel in my career.
What brought you to UT Dallas?
I chose to attend graduate school at UT Dallas after deciding to make a major career change. Following many years working in information technology, I wanted to transition my career into a role in finance. The Jindal School was the right choice for me because it was convenient, affordable and provided an excellence education.
What is your favorite UT Dallas memory?
During the course of my graduate coursework, my employer relocated my position to their office in Pennsylvania. Not only was I facing a major move, but I still had six courses that I needed to take to complete the requirements for my graduate degree. My academic advisor at the time was wonderful and worked diligently with me to formulate a plan. I took six classes my last semester so I could graduate without having to transfer to a different university.
Who was your favorite professor, and/or what was your favorite class and why?
All of my professors were excellent. Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management was my favorite class. It helped me in my professional life and with regard to personal, financial management.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I enjoy traveling, playing golf and spending time with my wife and children.

What’s the best advice you have received?
Get out of your comfort zone. Some of my best life experiences are from doing things I never thought I could do. The picture included above is an example of one of those experiences. I was volunteering at a childcare center located in one of the roughest areas in the city of Pittsburgh.
