The Naveen Jindal School of Management’s Full-Time MBA Program has been named among the nation’s top 15 public MBA programs by U.S. News and World Report in its newly released 2016 “Best Graduate Schools” rankings.

The survey lists the Jindal School at No. 14 among public schools offering full-time MBA programs, moving up two spots from last year. Overall, the school ranks No. 33 in the nation, tying with Brigham Young University, Rice University and the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and jumping four spots from last year.

UT Dallas’ full-time program was ranked third in the state — in a tie with Rice — behind only UT Austin and Texas A&M.

“I’m very proud of our No. 33 standing and our strong position alongside other high-caliber universities that deliver the best in MBA education. I’m particularly pleased that our Full-Time MBA Program, which is less than 20 years old, has continued to climb in the rankings. In the last eight years, we have successfully moved from No. 54 to No. 33, demonstrating our continued success in recruiting top students who appeal to great employers,” said Dr. Hasan Pirkul, Jindal dean and Caruth Chair of Management.

The school’s online graduate business programs remained at No. 6 and its Professional MBA Program tied for No. 29 with Case Western Reserve University and the University of California at Davis. The Information Systems program jumped four spots to No. 16 among public and private universities.

U.S. News computes its rankings of full-time programs using factors such as peer-assessment scores, quality assessment, recruiter-assessment scores, acceptance rates, students’ GPAs and GMAT scores, placement success, average starting salary and bonus, the percentage of students employed at graduation and their average starting salaries.
