Bachelor of Science in Accounting

The Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting provides students a broad–based education that balances concepts with practical knowledge. The program develops professionals who understand the role of information in organizations and financial markets, have the necessary skills to integrate financial analysis and information technology, and possess analytical and management skills.

Students who complete the program thrive in careers in information–intensive organizations as information managers, consultants or financial analysts. Students who desire a comprehensive accounting education and wish to become certified public accountants are advised to pursue the 150–credit–hour BS and MS fast–track program in Accounting. Students who successfully complete both degrees may sit for the CPA examination upon completion of the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy’s 150–semester–hour educational requirement.

We offer the Dean’s Excellence Scholarship program for new and returning students. This is a competitive scholarship program and the main criterion for new students joining the program is based on high SAT score and GPA. The scholarship provides you with $1,000 (one-time for the year) and in-state-tuition for the entire academic year.

In addition to scholarships, US citizens may apply for financial aid through the UT Dallas Financial Aid Office.
