EMBA - GLEMBA Newsletter - September 2017

Welcome

Greetings, Alumni!

One of my greatest takeaways in going through the Executive MBA program at UT Dallas was my desire for continuous learning. I’m constantly reading — my last book was The Travels of a T-Shirt in the Global Economy: An Economist Examines the Markets, Power, and Politics of World Trade, (Hoboken, N.J.: John Wiley & Sons, 2015) by Pietra Rivoli. This is required reading for Dr. Kiser’s Global Economics course for both EMBA and GLEMBA. Please keep reading to learn about other books our students are reading. Last year, I finished my second master’s degree, which I earned from the International Management Studies program here at the Jindal School. What are you doing for continuous education?

The Jindal School offers more than 13 MS degree programs. Please note that you can use your MBA credits toward your second master’s degree — if and only if — those credits fall within 72 months from the start of your first degree and the end of your second degree.

Any EMBA or GLEMBA graduate can audit an EMBA course. (University policy prohibits auditing online classes.) Please read the EMBA Class Notes below to see what courses are being offered in January 2018. We also announced that our International Study Tour (IST) will be to Prague, Czech Republic (also known now as Czechia); Brussels, Belgium; and Dublin, Ireland. We offer the IST to all alumni at cost. Please let me know if you are interested in joining us.

One last note: Please save the date for the annual Executive Education Holiday Party on December 9. This year, we are hosting the party on campus in the new Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center. This is your building – I am looking forward to seeing you there!
