Next Information Session for Spring Cohort and Masters Program

The Executive and Professional Coaching Program is thriving at UTD and we continue taking applications for Cohort #7B, which will begin classes in March. We are also excited to open up our new Master’s Degree Program for immediate application.

You are invited to join an interactive group Information Session with an overview and Q& A on both programs, including options for each.  Our next one is scheduled for Thursday, November 19th at 5:30 p.m. U.S. Central time. It will be conducted on a group teleconference line so you can call from anywhere in the world. If you are interested in attending, send an e-mail to <coaching@utdallas.edu> with "Information Session" in the subject line. Please include your full name and location in your e-mail. We will add your name to the reservation list and send you the call details. You may also register at the Coaching website http://som.utdallas.edu/coaching/

ICF Credentials Awarded
We are very proud of all of our graduates from the Executive and Professional Coaching Program at UTD. We graduated our seventh cohort in September, and they are already joining the ranks of ICF credentialed coaches. Our earlier cohorts also continue an impressive record of professional development.  We want to congratulate the following coaches who have received a new ICF credential-and continue to be involved in the UTD community:

Mary McElroy, ACC; Cohort 6A, October 2009

Sam Palazzolo, PCC; Cohort 6A, October 2009

Barry Bourassa, ACC; Cohort 3, October 2009

Maureen Batson, ACC; Cohort 6A, October 2009

Please let us know if we missed anyone. We expect to be sharing some more good news about newly- awarded credentials in our next issue. We have a number of "pendings."

Planning Ahead for the ICF Conference
We are looking forward to meeting many of you in person at the ICF Conference in Orlando beginning on December 2nd.  We would like you to know that the UTD Executive and Professional Coaching Program will have a booth in the exhibit hall and we will also host a reception/happy hour at the conference (a good time to meet and greet in person).

  • Find us (students, graduates, faculty, staff) throughout the conference at Booth #815, one spot down from the entrance to the Super Sessions.
  • The UTD reception has been scheduled for 6:00 p.m. EST on Friday, December 4th at a location within the conference hotel.

We’d also like to highlight some excellent educational presentations by Coaching Program faculty members.  Be sure to check out the following:

  • Caroline Adams Miller: “Does Success Lead to Happiness or Vice Versa? Surprising Outcomes from goals research every coach should know”
  • Ginger Cockerham: “Expansion—Beyond Executive Coaching to Team and Group Coaching for Organizations”
  • David Matthew Prior:  Wisdom Circles—“Creating Awareness” and “Trust and Intimacy”
  • Francine Campone: “From Uh-Oh to Aha:  Learning from Critical Incidents in Coaching”

UTD Winter Coaching Happy Hour and Open House

If you will be in the Dallas area please join us on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 5:30pm Central Time at the UTD School of Management building. There is no charge for this event.  It is open to all students, graduates, faculty, ICF chapter members, subscribers to the UTD Coaching News and your friends and associates in the coaching community.

We’ll enjoy refreshments, a warm setting, and a brief educational presentation that will last 20-30 minutes to leave maximum time for mingling.

To attend, just send an e-mail to coaching@utdallas.edu with “January Open House” in the subject line.  Please include the names of your guests or forward instructions to them on how to register on their own. Reservations are necessary so that we can email detailed information on location and parking (a bit of a challenge) plus get an accurate head count for UTD catering.

We’re looking forward to seeing you January 14th!
