The Career Management Center offers tools and programs specifically for undergraduates, graduates, and international students. These services were designed to help you build your network, enhance your skills, and develop professionalism to land your dream job.

Career Coaching Services Individual and group coaching services are available in the Career Management Center by appointment. Meet with a Career Coach for guidance throughout the job and internship search. Click here to Request an Appointment with a Career Coach. CareerWorks CareerWorks is the UT Dallas Career Center’s online recruiting system. Job postings, on-campus interview schedules, and career events can be found using this system. Resume & Cover Letter Writing Review the CMC resume and cover letter writing guidelines and visit the office for assistance revising and enhancing the content. Interview Strategies Schedule a mock interview to build confidence and to practice storytelling for your next interview. Salary Negotiation & Offer Review Meet with a Career Coach to discuss negotiation strategies and the decision-making process and review our offer review handout for helpful tips. In addition, research current salaries by industry and location provided by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Networking Build your professional network through employer information sessions, industry forums, information interviews, and social media.
Social Media The CMC encourages students to create professional social media networks. Students can also follow us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest for career resources and events. Check out our LinkedIn Strategies. Workshops The CMC hosts a number of workshops throughout the semester. Business Journals & Book of Lists Discover industry news and annual rankings of the top organizations within 40 geographic regions, including Dallas. Access these resources through the McDermott Library using your NetID. A database of more than 830,000 employers nationwide, covering a wide spectrum of industries. ChoicesPlanner is an occupational exploration program containing information on more than 650 different occupations. Students can easily access information about occupations, conduct exploration searches and take online assessments. This version provides outlook and salary information for cities in Texas. Going Global career and employment resources include more than 10,000 pages of constantly-updated content on topics such as: job search sources, work permit/visa regulations, resume writing guidelines and examples, employment trends, salary ranges, networking groups, cultural/interviewing advice… and much more! An online magazine with a weekly listing of international jobs. An internship site linking to more than 3,000 organizations offering internships. Prepare for your next interview and practice your responses within a virtual simulated interview experience. A system of interactive guidance and information. You can find out more about yourself, make lists of occupations to explore, see what skills each occupation requires, see how to prepare for each occupation and make plans to get yourself started. An extensive online career resource library for researching careers, industries, companies and internships. Internships are the best way for students to gain practical work experience and apply what they learned in the classroom to business situations. From a career standpoint, an internship is an excellent resume builder and can often lead to a full-time job. Therefore, we highly encourage students to apply for internships.
