Professional MBA Program

A Flexible MBA Program for Working Professionals
The Professional MBA (PMBA) program’s mission is to help working professionals learn to think, plan and act strategically in a competitive global marketplace. Our PMBA program focuses on teaching students to develop business solutions by utilizing strong analytical problem-solving skills, team oriented approaches and strategic planning.
While all PMBA students complete the 53 credit hour MBA curriculum, made up of 29 core credit hours and 24 elective hours, students can choose to complete the degree plan through several different formats:
- PMBA Evening Cohort: This format admits 60 fully-employed professionals every Fall semester to take courses twice a week in an accelerated 24 month program. This format allows working professionals to take all 29 core courses together, creating an effective networking team approach to the PMBA curriculum.
- PMBA Flex: The PMBA Flex program allows students to complete the entire PMBA on their own schedule, pace and focus. Flex Students can start the PMBA in Fall, Spring, or Summer semester, and can take courses on-campus or online. PMBA Flex students determine when they will take courses and how many.
- PMBA Online: Students can complete the entire PMBA online following a similar format to the PMBA Flex. While students can complete the entire PMBA online, it is important to note that not all electives are offered online at this time so there may be some limited choice in elective courses/concentrations.
A majority of our PMBA students work full time and take classes on a part-time basis, normally 6 credit hours (2 courses) a semester. To accommodate working professionals, classes typically are offered between the hours of 4:00 – 10:00 PM (Monday through Friday), the majority of which are offered between 7:00 – 10:00 PM.
Our PMBA Program has been widely recognized by Bloomberg Businessweek and US News and we are excited about what this program has achieved for our students and for the honor that their collective success has brought to our school. We pride ourselves on attracting the best and brightest students and providing a demanding, rigorous and truly rewarding degree experience. With our affordable tuition, perfect location, and highly-rated faculty, making a decision to enroll at UT Dallas will be one of your best, life-long decisions.
