BS BA with Real Estate Concentration



The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a concentration in Real Estate provides students with an ability to add valuable practical skills and knowledge to their business degree program. The student’s ability to indicate this concentration should immediately differentiate them in the marketplace and open up career path opportunities in this important and exciting field.

Program Objectives

Real Estate Concentration

The Real Estate concentration is an elective subset of the overall curriculum for obtaining a BSBA designation. The overall BSBA degree requirements including a core curriculum and additional Business Administration major requirements.

Beyond the general BSBA minimum requirements, a student may choose among a number of concentrations. The Real Estate concentration is a guided program and contemplates utilizing at least 9 hours of electives in the Real Estate area with an opportunity for many more for those interested in a more in-depth study program. Please see your advisor or current course catalog regarding overall degree and prerequisite requirements.

Career Opportunities

The real estate industry offers numerous opportunities to pursue professional careers. These include roles such as real estate broker, property manager, appraiser, investment analyst, asset manager, developer and real estate credit underwriter. The Dallas area provides a rich base of national real estate enterprises in pursuit of talent. UT Dallas’ emphasis on finance, technology and practical skills provides the foundation for future leaders in this important industry.

Professional Certifications

The real estate courses at UT Dallas provide a foundation for the pursuit of many of the designations available within the real estate industry. The Texas Real Estate Commission recognizes UT Dallas’ courses in this program as part of the Core Real Estate Education requirements toward licensure.

UT Dallas Real Estate Club

Both undergraduate and graduate students interested in careers within the real estate industry are encouraged to participate in the UT Dallas Real Estate Club. Through this organization, students will be exposed to alumni within the industry and be able to develop networks to assist them now and in the future. The club also works to facilitate internships and employment opportunities. In addition, students have an opportunity to participate in national real estate competition projects which can add depth to their knowledge, skills and résumés.

The undergraduate Real Estate program was designed to expose students to industry specific knowledge and provide them with information and advantages to help them with future career decisions.

The courses provide an excellent opportunity to understand value and market dynamics which should benefit any student regardless of their major field of study.
