Greetings from Santa Clara
Welcome to Santa Clara University in the heart of Silicon Valley!
We are delighted that the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University and The UT Dallas Jindal School of Management are co-hosting the 4th annual Supply Chain Management Conference – this time with a special Silicon Valley flair.
This unique conference is specific to SCM administrators, program directors, assistant/associate deans and center directors who are involved in developing and managing different aspects of supply chain programs and curriculum. These leaders come together to generate new ideas, answer challenges and exchange best-practice solutions. It is a pleasure and honor to host this event, and I hope that your conference experiences will prove useful and meaningful for years to come.
Your conference co-chairs, Naren Agrawal and Ram Bala, from Santa Clara’s OMIS department, and Shawn Alborz, director of UT Dallas’ Supply Chain program, have recruited program directors at different universities and top keynote speakers who have developed and marketed supply chain programs.
The schedule also includes sessions on how to develop better industry relations, build communities and successfully promote SCM programs, meetings on how to improve curriculum at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and opportunities to gain and exchange useful insights and experiences. An excursion to one of Silicon Valley’s technology campuses is also on the agenda.
On the networking side, the planning team has included many occasions for you to engage with one another, have fun, and enjoy the beautiful Bay Area. I encourage you to take full advantage of this outstanding event. I want you to leave with an invigorated and sustaining view of your efforts. I look forward to meeting many of you personally, and I wish you great success here and in the important work you do in your programs.
